2012 NISSAN SPORTS CARS
Now in its third year of availability in the North American market, the Nissan GT-R enters the 2012 model year with a number of enhancements and a simplified model lineup. The previous GT-R base model has been eliminated, leaving the GT-R Premium as the only available 2012 model. The 2012 GT-R will be available through nearly 700 official "GT-R certified" Nissan dealers across the United States beginning in March 2010.
"As difficult as it is to improve on perfection, we’ve added a few important features to GT-R for 2012 – improving ride comfort, enhancing the navigation system features and adding auto on/off headlights," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "One thing that remains unchanged is GT-R legendary performance, including its 485-horsepower 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 and 6-speed dual-clutch transmission."
Enhancements for 2012 include slightly darker wheel center caps, double clear coat on the front and rear fascias and the addition of rear cooling ducts to improve cooling performance around the rear floor area. The suspension has been retuned and the rear bushing strengthened to enhance ride comfort while still maintaining the GT-R’s outstanding handling. In addition, auto on/off headlights and speed-sensitive windshield wipers are now standard, along with a USB iPod® interface, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth® and DVD playback. The navigation system now includes XM NavTraffic® and NavWeather™ capability, along with premium points-of-interest (POI) information.
2012 Nissan GT-R
The Nissan GT-R is a multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of "the ultimate supercar that can be driven by anyone, anytime, anywhere." It is built on an exclusive Premium Midship platform created expressly for use with the GT-R.
The Premium Midship platform enables the use of a world’s first independent rear transaxle ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system, which optimizes weight distribution and handling capability. This layout places the transmission, transfer case and final drive at the rear of the vehicle, without the use of traditional torque tubes, allowing the suspension to operate independently and optimizing tire grip at each corner.
Under the hood, the Nissan GT-R features an advanced VR38DETT 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 producing 485 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 434 lb-ft of torque at 3,200, while meeting ultra-low emission vehicle (ULEV) standards. The engine features innovative plasma-sprayed bores replacing cast iron liners for reduced friction, lighter weight, enhanced cooling, power output and fuel efficiency; a symmetrical independent intake and exhaust manifold system featuring twin high-performance IHI turbochargers; a secondary air management system for improved cold-start emissions performance; a thermostatically controlled oil-cooling system; an oil scavenger pump to maintain oil flowing to the turbochargers; and a lateral wet and dry sump oiling system. All GT-R engines are hand-assembled in a clean room environment at the Nissan Yokohama engine plant.
The VR38DETT is backed by an advanced paddle-shifted sequential 6-speed dual clutch transmission, which can be driver selected to shift at race car-like speeds. The sequential-shifting transaxle features separate wet clutches for the odd (1,3,5) and even (2,4,6) gears and pre-selects the next highest and next lowest gear for immediate shifts. It also features Hill Start Assist for easy starts on uphill inclines.
Contributing to overall vehicle balance and low center of gravity, the unique offset input and reaction shaft design of the rear transaxle enables a shorter design profile versus a typical manual transmission, moving the concentration of powertrain weight lower in the vehicle.
Putting the power to the ground is an electronically controlled ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system specifically developed for GT-R. The rear drive-biased system can vary torque split from 0:100 to 50:50 depending on speed, lateral acceleration, steering angles, tire slip, road surface and yaw rate. Of note is a special GT-R-specific yaw-rate feedback control, which measures the differences between the target yaw rate calculated from steering angle and actual yaw rate detected by the yaw-rate sensor and G sensor to adjust torque bias.
GT-R’s handling duties are managed by a sophisticated 4-wheel independent suspension system mounted to high-precision six-point front and rear subframes. A special Bilstein DampTronic driver adjustable shock absorber system utilizes multiple vehicle information systems to provide appropriate damping forces and high level of control for a variety of driving situations. The DampTronic system features three driver selectable settings - Normal; Comfort, for maximum suspension compliance; or "R," for ultimate handling. The same three-stage adjustability is available for the VDC system and transmission shift operation, which also includes a Snow mode. For 2012, the suspension has been retuned and the rear bushings strengthened for enhanced ride comfort while still maintaining handling.
Stopping power is provided by Brembo monoblock six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers with large 15-inch Brembo full-floating cross-drilled two-piece rotors and low-steel high-stiffness brake pads that minimize fade and provide intense stopping performance. The calipers utilize race car-style radial mounting to minimize caliper flex during extreme braking.
GT-R-specific lightweight forged 20-inch wheels, with special knurling to assist with securing the tires during hard acceleration or braking, are shod with nitrogen-filled Bridgestone high-performance summer run-flat tires specifically designed for the GT-R, sized 255/40ZRF20 front and 285/35ZRF20 rear. Optional Dunlop SP Sport 600 – 255ZRF40/20 front, P285ZRF35/20 rear performance summer tires are available with the Ultra High Performance Summer Tire Package.
2012 Nissan 370Z Roadster
The 370Z Roadster’s most obvious departure from the 370Z Coupe, which serves as the foundation platform, is its convertible top. The soft-top roof was designed with an emphasis on three key areas: to provide a sleek silhouette matching the new Z’s stunning styling with the top up or down, to offer easy single-action open-close operation, and to provide an enjoyable top-down experience with reduced wind turbulence and all-climate driver/passenger comfort.
With convertible top in the closed position, the design provides a sophisticated sloped-back appearance, the perfect balance between the soft top and the Z body design.
The shortened windshield and aerodynamically rounded rear deck enhance the Z®’s kinetic and dynamic character lines. When in the down position, the convertible top is concealed beneath a full body-color hard tonneau cover, which extends forward to help create the Z® Roadster’s classic "double cockpit" style interior.
The standard black (a Bordeaux color top is available with the Wine colored interior) cloth convertible top features a fabric inner liner, which provides a quality appearance and helps reduce noise intrusion into the cabin, along with a large glass rear window with an integrated electric rear window defroster. The top operation takes approximately 20 seconds and is controlled by either a center console-mounted switch or by a button located on the doors (top lowering only). The automatic latch system secures the top to – or releases it from – the windshield header without driver intervention. The shape and position of the glass wind deflector, located between the fixed headrest bars, has been optimized to reduce turbulence into the cabin.
Like the 370Z Coupe, the Z® Roadster’s exterior is more aggressive in appearance and lighter and tighter in structure than the previous generation. The Z® Roadster features an aluminum hood, door panels and trunk for reduced weight. It includes additional structural reinforcement (over the 370Z Coupe), including in the A-pillars and side sills.
The Z Roadster’s exterior design incorporates the look and feel of the Z Coupe, including its signature long nose/short cockpit proportions, vertical door handles and distinctive headlight/taillight treatment, which features a fierce "boomerang" shape. High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-functional xenon headlights with auto on/off feature are standard.
The 2012 370Z Roadster is offered in seven exterior colors: Solid Red, Magnetic Black, Brilliant Silver, Gun Metallic, Pearl White, Monterey Blue and Black Cherry.
Inside the stunning exterior, true to its sports car heritage, the Z Roadster’s interior is completely driver-centric, with its three-layer design grouping items by how a driver sees information, operates the controls and is held in place – so drivers feel completely connected and engaged whenever and wherever they drive, top up or down.
The Z Roadster features high back black woven "Carbon" cloth seats with 8-way manual driver’s/4-way manual passenger’s seat adjustments. Touring models include unique leather-appointed seats with 4-way power/4-way manual operation on the driver’s seat (4-way power on the passenger’s seat). These seats are exclusive to the Z? Roadster and have integrated heating and cooling functions – ideal for open air driving no matter what the outside temperature. Adjustable front seat Active Head Restraints are also standard.
The Z Roadster’s 2-seat layout includes a deeply scooped instrument panel with a full-length center console separating the driver and passenger’s seat. The instrument panel retains the traditional Z 3-pod cluster with oil temperature, voltmeter and clock, while the speedometer and tachometer now include an "initial sweep" function, coming alive when the car is first started.
The sporty steering wheel is a new "oval" 3-spoke design, which offers baseball-style stitching, improved thumb grips and palm rest areas for improved feel on long drives. The surface of the leather-wrapped wheel is "shaved" to provide a more kidney-like shape to better fit in the hand. The manual transmission shifter is specially padded to improve the accuracy of diagonal shifts and to feel softer in the hand for forward and backward motions.
Standard interior comfort and convenience features include Nissan Intelligent Key™ with Push Button Ignition, power windows with one-touch auto up/down feature, power door locks with auto-lock feature and a center console box with a non-intrusive cover design.
Other features include automatic climate control, two 12-volt power outlets, three cupholders (two in door panels, one in center console) and an AM/FM/CD/AUX 4-speaker audio system with illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls.
The Touring model adds a 6CD Bose audio system with eight speakers (includes dual subwoofer) and MP3/WMA playback, XM® Satellite Radio (XM® subscription required, sold separately), Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, HomeLink® Universal Transceiver and aluminum-trimmed pedals.
The optional Navigation Package includes the touch-screen Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System with XM NavTraffic® Real-Time Traffic Information and NavWeather® (XM® subscription required, sold separately), 9.3GB Music Box® hard drive for digital music storage and playback and USB connectivity that is iPod® compatible. The navigation system offers a number of enhancements (versus previous Nissan Navigation System designs), including four times higher screen resolution, Bluetooth® Streaming Audio, on-board Zagat Survey® restaurant ratings database, an in-dash DVD player and XM NavWeather® weather information display (XM® subscription required, sold separately).
The 370Z Roadster interior is available in Black cloth or for 370Z Touring Roadster models, a choice of Gray, Black or Wine leather-appointed A/C and heated ventilated seats.
2012 Nissan NISMO 370Z
Every NISMO 370Z starts with the unmatched foundation of an advanced Nissan FM (Front Midship) platform, refined 4-wheel independent suspension and 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control (VVEL). The VVEL system helps optimize intake valve open/close movements, allowing the needed air to be sent promptly to the combustion chamber at the precisely optimized time.
For its use in the NISMO 370Z, the 3.7-liter VQ-series V6 produces 350 hp @ 7,400 rpm and 276 lb-ft of torque @ 5,200 rpm. The NISMO Z®’s enhanced engine power and acceleration is provided through use of an exclusive H-configured exhaust system design and muffler tuning, along with optimized ECM (Engine Computer Module) control. The NISMO 370Z is offered with only one transmission, a close-ratio 6-speed manual with Nissan’s "SynchroRev Match" synchronized downshift rev matching system.
The "SynchroRev Match" function automatically controls and adjusts engine speed when shifting to the speed of the next gear position, essentially "blipping" the throttle to smooth out any up/down shifts. This not only allows the driver to focus more on braking and steering, it improves the smoothness of gear shifts by reducing the typical "shock" when the clutch is engaged. The system can be deactivated with a button next to the shifter for drivers who prefer to shift on their own.
The NISMO 370Z features a tight, rigid body structure with a strut tower bar brace and a pair of performance dampers, which quickly and efficiently react to help control body vibrations from road input via the tires, contributing to the NISMO 370Z’s outstanding handling and performance feel.
The NISMO Z®’s double-wishbone front/4-link rear suspension design suspension is specially tuned for exceptional handling. Compared to a standard Nissan 370Z Coupe, front spring rates have been dialed up 15%, rear spring rates 10%, front stabilizer bar rate upped 15% and the rear stabilizer bar is 50% stiffer. The roll stiffness rate has been increased by 15% and front and rear damping factors have been increased by 40% and 140% respectively.
The NISMO 370Z rides on unique 5-spoke Nissan-branded 19-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels (19x9.5-inch front, 19x10.5-inch rear) mounted with Yokohama ADVAN Sport Y-rated high-performance tires (P245/40ZR19 front, P285/35ZR19 rear).
Bringing the NISMO 370Z to a stop are standard NISMO Sport Brakes with large diameter 14.0-inch front and 13.8-inch rear vented rotors with 4-piston front and 2¬piston rear aluminum calipers. The braking system also includes a variable ratio brake pedal for a more direct pedal stroke feel, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). A Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD) is standard on all NISMO 370Zs, along with Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).
Responsive steering is provided by a vehicle-speed-sensitive power-assisted rack-and-pinion design. Unwanted steering kickback and vibrations are reduced with the use of a solenoid valve that acts like a damper when there is a harsh impact load.
2012 Nissan 370Z Coupe
The 2012 370Z Coupe’s dynamic styling offers dual benefits – an aggressive appearance and a light, highly rigid structure for enhanced performance. The 370Z Coupe’s 2nd generation FM platform provides a refined foundation for the well-proportioned body, with a 100.4-inch wheelbase, 167.2-inch overall length, 72.6-inch width and 51.8-inch height, giving it a classic sports car look and feel.
The Z® features aluminum door panels, along with an all-aluminum hood and an aluminum hatch. The body structure was extensively revised for this generation design, improving front body torsion rigidity by 30 percent and adding a front suspension cradle to help reduce front body lateral bending, rear structural reinforcements, and an underbody "V-bar" to help reduce rear lateral bending. The design also uses a carbon fiber composite radiator housing and strengthened rear fender and hatch areas.
The 370Z’s taut exterior design incorporates intentional 240Z styling cues, a sleek aerodynamic shape, a "dynamic motion" feel with a dramatic cantilevered roof and a "low visual gravity." The sleek silhouette is defined by its upswept quarter window design that is echoed by the dynamic upward curvature in the lower rocker panel and the sense of the taut sheet metal molding itself around the wheels and frame.
Another distinctive feature of the bold exterior design is the headlight/taillight treatment, which features a fierce "boomerang" shape. High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-functional xenon headlights with auto on/off feature are standard. The intense broad-shouldered rear shape is highlighted by the integration of the boomerang taillights and wide, flared rear fenders. Attention to detail and functionality is evident throughout the exterior design, including a flashing (repeater lamp) side marker lamp/emblem.
The coefficient of drag is 0.30 (0.29 with the Sport Package). The 370Z also provides zero front lift and zero rear lift when equipped with the rear spoiler, thanks to extensive aerodynamics efforts – including an "inverse area" front bumper design which smoothes the flow of air to the sides of the vehicle, while the rear design maximizes the control of air flow from the roof to the rear hatch.
Performance body pieces are available as part of the optional Sport Package, including a front chin spoiler and rear spoiler. The 2012 370Z is offered in seven exterior colors: Pearl White, Monterey Blue, Brilliant Silver, Magnetic Black, Solid Red, Gun Metallic and Black Cherry.

2012 Nissan Maxima
In creating driving performance worthy of Nissan’s flagship, the Maxima body and chassis engineering teams worked together to create a secure feeling, virtually no torque steer during acceleration and a level of nimbleness that ultimately makes a car fun to drive. A range of enhancements (versus the previous generation Maxima) helped achieve these targets, including increasing body rigidity and adjusting the wheelbase and track dimensions.
Utilizing Nissan’s advanced "D platform" as its foundation, Maxima features a standard 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine rated at 290 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. The engine includes a modular engine design with microfinished crank journals and cam lobes, molybdenum coated lightweight pistons, a resin intake collector, digital knock control, six individual coils (one per spark plug) and a cross-flow coolant pattern. Also utilized are a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), a variable induction system, a silent timing chain and electronically controlled throttle. Maxima also utilizes a six-point engine mounting system, which includes upper and lower torque rods, high rigidity front and rear aluminum brackets and front and rear switchable control mounts to improve NVH performance under high engine torque conditions.
All 2012 Maximas come equipped with a refined Xtronic CVT™ with manual mode, tuned specifically for Maxima’s sporty driving character. Available steering column-mounted paddle shifters allow for manual transmission-like shift changes while the driver’s hands remain on the wheel.
Maxima’s suspension is designed to be both stimulating and relaxing, combining responsive handling with a comfortable ride. The subframe-mounted strut/coil spring front suspension makes extensive use of lightweight aluminum parts. An X-type upper cowl structure helps provide front body rigidity for suspension mounting. Maxima’s multi-link independent rear suspension design, also subframe-mounted, offers outstanding handling by minimizing camber change during cornering. The rear shock absorbers and springs are separated and the shocks are in line with the center of the rear wheels, providing excellent damping and minimal harshness. Front and rear stabilizer bars are standard.
Braking is provided by standard 4-wheel vented disc brakes with a 4-channel, 4-sensor, 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). Maxima also features a Twin Orifice Power Steering (TOPS) vehicle-speed-sensitive power rack-and-pinion steering system with the quickest steering ratio of any Nissan sedan (15.2:1) to help provide its sporty steering feel. A strut tower brace contributes to Maxima’s steering precision and rigidity.
Every 2012 Maxima offers standard 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and V-rated P245/45R18 all-season tires. The Maxima 3.5 SV model with Sport Package features 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with P245/40R19 all-season or summer performance tires.
2012 Nissan Altima Sedan
The Nissan Altima Sedan, the best selling individual model in the Nissan lineup, received a number of enhancements for the 2010 model year – helping keep the design fresh, the quality high and the value unmatched in the mid-size sedan class. For 2012, Altima Sedan again provides a unique combination of exhilarating driving pleasure, distinctive and sporty design and a wide range of available features and technology. Enhancements for the new model year include revised package content and three new exterior colors.
The 2012 Altima Sedan is available in three well-equipped models designed to appeal to a broad range of buyer needs and budgets: the 2.5 CVT and 2.5 S CVT with standard 175-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder, and the 3.5 SR CVT with a 270-horsepower 3.5-liter V6.
"Altima has become a true standard bearer for Nissan and the mid-size sedan segment," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manger, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "It offers an unexpected level of refinement and attention to detail for its class, along with a truly pleasurable driving experience that has become an Altima hallmark. We’re also dedicated to keeping Altima’s quality at the top of its segment once again this year. We expect great things from Altima in 2012."
2012 Nissan Altima Coupe
For 2012, the sporty, 2-door Nissan Altima Coupe once again offers a high-value, high-quality, high style coupe for Altima customers seeking a more personal expression of individuality and fashionable appearance. Last year, the Altima Coupe received a long list of changes, including a more aggressive front end exterior appearance with new grille and projector beam headlights, standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), refined option package content, revised interior fabrics and finishers, and a new red leather-appointed interior color. For 2012, enhancements are limited to two new exterior colors: Metallic Slate and Brilliant Silver.
The 2012 Altima Coupe is available in 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine-equipped 2.5 S and 3.5-liter V6 engine-equipped 3.5 SR trim levels, each offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or Nissan’s advanced Xtronic CVT™ (Continuously Variable Transmission).
The Altima Coupe’s unique exterior design is intended to stand out in a crowd of sedan-based two-door models with magnetic, perfectly proportioned styling with a shorter wheelbase, shorter overall length and lower height than the Altima Sedan. The smaller size and lighter overall weight also contribute to the Coupe’s sportier driving feel – a desired attribute of the typically younger, more performance-oriented coupe buyers.
"The Coupe adds a distinctive style to the Altima lineup, which also includes the Altima Sedan and Altima Hybrid. Unlike some other brands, which treat coupe models like minor line extension, the Altima Coupe stands out as a star on its own," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "It’s a great performer and a great value."
2012 Nissan Altima Hybrid
The Altima Hybrid powertrain mates a refined version of Nissan’s QR25 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and standard electronically controlled CVT with an advanced electric drive motor/generator that increases fuel economy while maintaining low tailpipe emissions. Altima Hybrid is rated as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) and emits almost no evaporative emissions.
The advanced energy drive system shares duties between the gasoline-powered 4-cylinder and the emissions-free electric motor – allowing Altima Hybrid to run solely on electric power if appropriate, especially during stop-and-go driving. If extra performance is needed, the gasoline engine starts instantly and smoothly adds power as required.
Altima Hybrid is estimated to have a hybrid system net power rating of 198 horsepower (148 kW). EPA fuel economy is estimated at 35 mpg City and 33 mpg Highway. Combined with Altima’s standard 20-gallon fuel tank, the Altima Hybrid has a projected driving range of over 600 miles between fill-ups.
The Altima Hybrid utilizes regenerative braking technology to recharge the hybrid system’s batteries, meaning Altima Hybrid doesn’t have to "plug in" to maintain a sufficient store of electric energy.
In order to recharge the battery, a generator places resistance on the driveshaft during braking. Altima Hybrid’s Regenerative Brake System calculates braking force generated by brake pedal operation and controls the regenerative brake force to convert kinetic energy into electric energy, optimizing energy regeneration. The system converts the vehicle’s kinetic energy to usable electric energy that is stored in the system’s 244.8V Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery for eventual use by the electric motor.
Nissan’s proven QR25 4-cylinder engine features continuously variable valve timing, modular engine design, microfinished crank journals and cam lobes, molybdenum-coated lightweight pistons and electronically controlled throttle.
Helping provide smooth acceleration and maximize powertrain efficiency is Altima Hybrid’s hybrid system-specific eCVT, which works in conjunction with the Hybrid Vehicle-Electric Control Unit (HV-ECU) to determine which power source or combination of power sources will turn the wheels.
Altima Hybrid’s electric motor produces high torque at low rpm, allowing it to utilize its Electric Vehicle (EV) mode to power the car from a standing idle and through initial acceleration without the assistance of the gasoline engine. While this stage of acceleration is a typical gasoline-only powered vehicle’s least fuel-efficient stage, Altima Hybrid offers much of its fuel-efficiency benefits here.
Altima Hybrid’s all-electric mode, called Electric Vehicle (EV) mode, powers the vehicle in this initial acceleration phase. After the electric motor provides initial acceleration, the gasoline engine quietly starts and assumes the load of powering the vehicle. The gasoline engine works independently through cruising speeds until the vehicle reaches speeds at which fuel efficiency declines. When loads require, the electric motor restarts again and aids the gasoline engine in powering the Altima Hybrid. This allows the gasoline engine to remain in its ideal rpm range while the axle torque simultaneously increases due to extra power contributed by the electric motor.
A digital display on the speedometer indicates when the Altima Hybrid is running solely on electric power. The Altima Hybrid’s available hard drive navigation system also features a real-time display showing how the hybrid system directs the flow of energy.
Serving as the foundation for Altima Hybrid is Nissan’s advanced "D" platform. The platform includes a subframe-mounted front suspension, shock absorbers with rebound springs and equal-length half-shafts that are nearly parallel to the ground – virtually eliminating traditional front-wheel drive torque steer.
2012 Nissan Sentra

Now in its third year of availability in North America, the 2012 Nissan cube® continues to enhance its standing as a global icon – fun, functional, fresh and fashionable. With its asymmetrical rear window, refrigerator-style rear door and wide range of personal accessories, cube enters the new model year with just a few enhancements. For example, a Secure Digital (SD) Card-based navigation system with 5-inch color touch-screen, XM NavTraffic® capability and USB connectivity are added to the cube SL Preferred Package and 1.8 S Krom® Edition. XM® Satellite Radio is now part of the 1.8 S Krom® Edition (XM® subscription required, sold separately), and one new exterior color has been added to cube’s distinctive color palette – Golden Ginger.
For 2012, the Nissan cube is again available in three well-equipped models: cube 1.8, cube 1.8 S and cube 1.8 SL – along with a specialty vehicle cube 1.8 S Krom® Edition with exclusive sport body pieces, 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a custom interior with exclusive black and gray seats, premium audio system and more.
Just as the Nissan cube has its own unique take on styling and interior design, the engineering team took a fresh approach to performance – creating a vehicle that is easy to drive and easy to handle in traffic. Cube’s stress-free driving experience is the result of a number of factors: an extremely tight 33.4-foot curb-to-curb turning radius, a tall seating position made possible by the tall body height, an extremely short hood "invisible length" (the area of the hood panel that the driver is unable to see) and good rear visibility for parking and backing up.
Cube combines an advanced 122-horsepower 1.8-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder with a choice of Nissan Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) or 6-speed manual transmission for good acceleration response, smooth operation and fuel efficiency. The 6-speed manual is available with cube 1.8 and cube 1.8 S models, while the CVT is available with the cube 1.8 S and standard on the cube 1.8 SL and cube 1.8 S Krom® Edition models. Engine torque is rated at 127 lb-ft. Fuel economy is estimated at 27 mpg City/31 mpg highway with the CVT and 25 mpg City/30 mpg Highway with the 6-speed manual transmission. For 2012, the combined fuel economy rating increases to 29 mpg (from the previous 28 mpg).
Cube’s suspension combines an independent MacPherson strut front design and front stabilizer bar with a torsion beam rear axle with integrated rear stabilizer bar. Its comfortable, flat ride is a result, in part, of the "Ripple Control" shock absorbers and the high body stiffness. Other standard equipment includes vehicle-speed-sensitive electric power-assisted steering, power-assisted front disc/rear drum brakes and 15-inch wheels with P195/60R15 tires.
Cube’s long list of standard safety features includes the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS), seat-mounted driver and front-passenger side-impact supplemental air bags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection. Cube also offers standard front-seat Active Head Restraints, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS), along with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).
2012 NISSAN SUVS AND TRUCKS

As in 2010, all 2012 Muranos feature a powerful yet fuel-efficient 260-horsepower VQ-series 3.5-liter DOHC V6 and an advanced Xtronic CVT™ (Continuously Variable Transmission) – a combination that provides a sporty and smooth driving experience. 2012 Nissan Pathfinder
When the Nissan Pathfinder was introduced in 1986, it essentially created a new class of sport utility vehicle – authentic, rugged yet civilized enough for everyday use and family adventures. Now, 25 years later, Pathfinder the spirit of the original remains – still authentic, still offering first-class style and surroundings and still a great value.
Nissan is celebrating the milestone with the introduction of a new 2012 Pathfinder Silver Edition model, which comes complete with special features and equipment including 17-inch machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels, body-color side moldings with chrome inserts, Bose® audio system with CD6 and 10 speakers, XM® Satellite Radio (XM® subscription required, sold separately), Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Nissan Intelligent Key™, 4-way power front passenger seat, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, leather-appointed interior and Silver Edition badging. The Silver Edition is offered with V6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission and a choice of 4x2 or 4x4.

"We’re proud to celebrate the iconic Pathfinder’s heritage with a special Silver Edition model – and look forward to keeping Pathfinder true to its authentic roots as a segment innovator for many years ahead."
In addition to the new Silver Edition, the previous SE model has been replaced by the Pathfinder SV. There is also one new exterior paint color for 2012, Espresso Black. Pathfinder’s proven 4.0-liter V6 offers 266 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque. All Pathfinders continue to be built on a high-strength, fully boxed, all-steel frame based on the full-size Nissan Armada SUV.

2012 Nissan Xterra
Often copied, never equaled, Xterra remains a "class of one," combining power, utility, value and authenticity. The tough, essential Nissan Xterra continues in 2012 as a vehicle designed to inspire and facilitate outdoor enthusiasts’ activities wherever they go. For the 2012 model year, the adventure-ready Nissan Xterra offers a simplified model lineup. The previous Off-Road model has been renamed Xterra PRO-4X and the Xterra SE model is no longer available – leaving three 2012 Xterra models: Xterra X, Xterra S and Xterra PRO-4X. The X and S models are available in 4x2 or part-time 4-wheel drive. PRO-4X has standard part-time 4-wheel drive.
All 2012 Xterras feature Nissan’s advanced 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine, rated at 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, along with a rugged "F-Alpha" truck platform for adventure-ready performance. All models are offered with a refined 5-speed automatic transmission, while S and PRO-4X models have a choice of the automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
Xterra again features a distinct "multi-flex" interior with an abundance of useable space, storage and convenience features – including an available Easy Clean cargo area, a tie-down channel system, 10 cargo hooks and an available built-in first-aid kit. While maintaining its "authentic" tough gear positioning, the 2012 Xterra also offers a range of advanced technologies, including Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, XM® Satellite Radio (XM® subscription required, sold separately) and an 8-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system with subwoofer.

2012 Nissan Rogue
The Nissan Rogue crossover SUV enters the 2012 model year with a new refreshed exterior appearance, refined interior, added technology and convenience features and one other thing – more of the same high-value, high-fun attitude that has made Rogue one of the most popular compact crossover SUVs in class since its introduction four years ago.
The big news for the new model year is that a series of new features, not previously available for Rogue, are offered for 2012, including the Nissan Navigation System, RearView Monitor, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, USB port for iPod® and other devices, automatic climate control and auto on/off headlights – to name just a few. Many of the new features are now standard on Rogue S, such as iPod® connectivity, 6-way manual driver’s seat and illuminated vanity mirrors.
"There are many ways to look at ‘value’ in a vehicle these days and the new Nissan Rogue delivers by every measure – affordability, fuel efficiency, quality and versatility," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North American, Inc. "Often overlooked in the equation are sophistication and style, which have been upped considerably in the redesigned 2012 Rogue – proving once again that Rogue remains the perfect fusion of fun and functionality."
For 2012, Rogue is offered in two well equipped models, Rogue S and Rogue SV, along with a special Rogue S Kr?m™ Edition designed to add a unique dimension to traditional compact sport utility vehicles with its aggressive sport styling, exclusive 18-inch wheels and a center-exit sport-tuned exhaust. All Rogue models are available in all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive configurations.
Among the many enhancements for the fourth year of Rogue production is a redesigned exterior featuring a new front fascia and grille, new front and rear spoilers, new chrome side door guard molding trim accents, new front and rear tire deflectors and a new chrome license plate finisher. Also added for 2012 are new 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels for the Rogue S Kr?m™ Edition and Rogue SL Package, new low rolling resistance tires (available with the 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels) and a new under-body cover.
Four new exterior colors are offered: Pearl White, Cayenne Red, Frosted Steel and Black Amethyst – along with four carryover colors, Indigo Blue, Super Black, Brilliant Silver and Platinum Graphite.
Interior additions for the new model year include a new gauge panel design and new center cluster, along with new seat cloth and mood lighting for the Rogue S. 2012 Nissan Titan
When the original Nissan Titan full-size pickup was first introduced it sent shock waves through the segment with its innovative bed design, high standard of interior comfort and convenience features and, of course, its rugged truck frame and powerful 317-horsepower Nissan Endurance V8 engine. Entering the 2012 model year, the popular Titan continues to set the bar high. Following a number of enhancements for 2010, the Nissan Titan full-size pickup features additional refinements to the optional equipment package content. In addition, the previous Titan SE model has been replaced with the Titan SV and the previous Titan LE model is now named the Titan SL. For 2012, the Titan four-model lineup consists of S, SV, PRO-4X and SL.

"Again in 2012, Titan remains a rugged, reliable, spirited choice for active truck buyers seeking style, innovation and, as always, an excellent value," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). "Titan has the highest standard horsepower and torque ratings in the half-ton truck segment – 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque – making it perfect for everyday and every weekend use alike."
2012 Nissan Frontier
The Nissan Frontier, a no-compromise pickup forged with premium hardware, extraordinary power and off-road athleticism, continues to be a leader in the mid-size truck segment. Rated the "Highest Ranked Midsize Pickup in Initial Quality" in J.D. Power and Associates’ 2010 Initial Quality Study, Frontier was updated in 2009 with a new front fascia, grille and headlight design and available wheel designs. The changes for 2012 focus on revised model and option availability. The previous Frontier XE model is now the Frontier S, the previous SE is now designated Frontier SV and the previous Frontier LE model is the Frontier SL. The 2012 Frontier model lineup now consists of Frontier S, Frontier SV, Frontier PRO-4X and Frontier SL (Crew Cab only). It is offered in both King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, in 4x2 and 4x4 driveline configurations.

2012 Nissan Quest
The all-new fourth generation Nissan Quest, which is set to go on sale at Nissan
dealers nationwide in early 2012, is about to take on the toughest job on the
planet: parenting. More than just another new Quest, it’s an entirely new take
on the minivan – with bold styling, an extensive list of family friendly
innovations and amenities a family can enjoy together. With one-touch power
sliding doors, quick release fold-flat seats, an Advanced Climate Control
System, and rear storage well to name just a few, Quest provides the innovation
to help make the impossible possible on a daily basis. Just like parents do.
"The all-new Nissan Quest ‘gets’ parenting. While minivans remain one of the
most maligned symbols of adulthood, where some see them as a surrendering of
youth and fun, Nissan sees the minivan as a celebration of family life – not
only for moms on weekdays, but for fun times with the entire family on
weekends," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan
Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "We view Quest as a reward to parents for
doing just that – parenting."
Designed with purpose inside and out, the 2012 Quest offers functionality,
unique styling and comfort for all occupants. "While it can’t promise to make
parenting easier, or your kids better behaved, the new Quest can make your life
as a parent a little less chaotic," adds Castignetti.
Among the new Quest’s available "Innovation for Family" design features are:
- A sophisticated, modern exterior and interior design that provides a fresh
approach to the minivan segment – including a "fluid sculpture" body with full
surround glass treatment
- One-touch power sliding side doors that easily unlock and open with a single
touch, even with arms and hands full of groceries
- Dual Opening glass moonroofs (two), providing refreshing breezes to front and
rear occupants when open
- 2nd row power windows
- Standard Quick Release Fold-Flat 2nd and 3rd row seats to make a flat load
floor, and available 3rd row power-return seatback on LE
- Quick Comfort heated front seats with advanced staged heating system design
- Removable 2nd row console with cupholders and lid
- Always-available large, covered Permanent Rear Storage Well
- Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS) intelligent HVAC system with
Plasmacluster™ air purifier, Grape Polyphenol Filter and auto recirculation
- Blind Spot Warning (BSW) system and RearView Monitor
- Conversation mirror, which helps enhance visibility and conversation with
children in the 2nd and 3rd rows
- Standard 2nd and 3rd row theater seating with available large rear 11-inch color
monitor and auto bright function
- Easy maneuverability, with small turning radius and front triangle windows for
enhanced visibility
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Easy Fill Tire Alert, which alerts you when
proper tire inflation is reached
"This new dimension in minivans was conceived to provide smart prioritization,
fulfilling the traditional, often child-centric needs of everyday life, but also
the more emotional aspects of personal style, driving pleasure and unforgettable
family vacations," said Castignetti. "It’s designed to mirror the multi-purpose
comfort and warmth of a home’s ‘great room’ and lets you take it along on the
road."
